Dry eye disease (DED) is a common condition which can be chronic.  It affects the ocular surface and occurs when your tear film is unstable or unable to provide adequate lubrication for your eyes. Your eyes may sting, burn or feel irritated. They may feel scratchy or watery. You may also notice debris, redness or swelling along your lid margins.

Dry eye is often associated with blepharitis and meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD).  This digital resource will explain the symptoms, potential causes, and management of these interrelated conditions.
